I just covered this story in class last night. I didn’t have the “courage” (or synonym) to show this one on PowerPoint, however. I need to keep my job!
Love it!
How about this reality behind the myth from 2 Kings 6:
A company of the prophets are building themselves a new place near a sea port. Shipt arrives transporting timbers for project and man on board heaves great iron implement (for this was the dawn of the Iron Age) into the water. Man of God rushes up. “Don’t worry, guys, I can sort this.” Stretches his arms above the waters and said iron implement floats to the surface.
As he departs glorifying God, man on ship mutters, “What the f*** do we do now? That was the only anchor we’ve got.”
