Why Religious Studies is Important, ESPECIALLY for Business Students

In the big debate between humanities and “practical” university subjects like business or management and whole “Getting a Real Job” spiel, the humanities often looses out. But here is why even management and business students NEED Religious Studies, the pinnacle (pit?) of the humanities.

    I have often been asked (usually politely, sometimes not) what I expect to use my religious studies degree for. Since I intend on using mine to get into law school, this is accepted as an appropriate reason by those who enquire.

    What people do not seem to realize is that these classes teach us valuable lessons about the world. Although we have a somewhat limited use for our degrees, I think we are left with a better understanding of humanity. Let’s see the management students and their frumpy suits say THAT! :o p
