Happy Christmas! War is Over Blog Rates and Rankings!

Just to keep everything in the Christmas spirit, a tiff of sorts has exploded into the peaceful world of the the Bible-bloggersphere, with Jim West, Champion of the Bible Blogger rankings ever since Q was only in small case, has been challenged by the not-exactly an upstart, James McGrath. And McGrath is calling on all other Bible Bloggers to join him in his holy cause to depose West of his title! Needless to say, the ever vigilant West has taken notice.
McGrath thinks that part of West’s hegemony is shored up by what amounts to a barbarian horde of posts: a horde since there are so darn many of them, and barbarian because so few of them are actually about the bible. He wants all other bloggers to respond in kind, with TWO posts for every one of West’s!
The King is dead, Long live the King? Hmm….
Now, for my part, I had good Alexa rankings once, but I’m back down to about 1,300,000, which probably puts me at at not quite in the 1,000 of the 500 most popular Bible Blogs, so any extra hits here isn’t likely to impact West’s ranking at all.
So, I see my role in this war as being part of the OFFICIAL PEANUT GALLERY, which is a role bloggers should be comfortable performing.
But if having a bit of fun at Jim West’s expense is a useful thing to do over Christmas (I’ve seen no evidence to the contrary), lets get to it and evoke something of a response! Here is another secret photo of West, this time of his super top secret, totally depraved tattoo!
SAVE US RAPTOR JESUS!
So, I’m posting, but West might get a hit or two from it. And I eagerly await his response.
Anyway, I’m not sure flooding the intertubes with posts will actually lower West’s rankings at all. It might be better to boycott West’s site (I’m not actually going to do or advocate that) or flood another blog with hits, perhaps Joel Watt’s Unsettled Christianity since it is the one closest to West’s in rankings.
Or just have a beer and forget about it. And visit some blogs.

oh and btw- the boycott thing— don’t really know how to put this, but they really never work and usually end up backfiring. just ask davila how well his ‘boycott jim west’ call to arms went a few years back. as joel watts says – ‘just sayin’

A boycott? Seriously? I just brought it up as a silly strawman solution.
Why boycott?
Some folks take this intertube thing a bit too seriously.
