Well, it’s not the TOP 50 List of Bible Bloggers that I was aiming for, but it’s a 50 list anyway!
Yes, the old Thinking Shop is on Onlinecourses.net’s
50 AWESOME ATHEIST/AGNOSTIC BLOGS
Not made by me, but it just sums it up.
I’m in pretty good company:
Here is the top 5: text cut and pasted from the site (lolcats were added by me).
Friendly Atheist : The Friendly Atheist biblioblogtop50.wordpress.com as an informational source for newcomers to atheism as well as a virtual support community for atheists. Posts on the blog are thought-provoking and contributed by five individuals with varying backgrounds, all of whom have appreciation for atheism and productive exchange between the atheistic and theistic perspectives.
Why We Love It: A cool feature of this blog is “Ask Richard,” an advice column where viewers submit a question or dilemma regarding their atheistic views to Richard, who then responds in an insightful way. This section of the blog reveals some of the unique dilemmas and challenging situations that atheists face in daily life.

A special made for the purpose lolcat by yours truly.

Atheist Revolution: The Atheist Revolution opposes Christian extremism in America by showcasing several examples on both a national and local level in which religion causes stress, turmoil, and discrimination rather than positivity. The blog reflects the writer’s interest in atheism and commitment to the position of atheists in a world dominated by religious belief.
Why We Love It: This blog encourages its readers to think outside of the box, as it questions tradition and custom, while simultaneously posing questions conducive to progress and change. Posts on the blog are wide in scope, and subscribers can read about everything from child-rearing without religion to which restaurants atheists should avoid.
Favorite Post: Reaching Out to Atheists is Mean to Christians

The Atheist Jew: The Atheist Jew chronicles the opinions and experiences of a man who denies the existence of God, but by way of definition, is still technically considered a Jew. He explores a variety of issues, including popular culture, current events, and other controversial occurrences.
Why We Love It: The Atheist Jew is comical, candid, and entertaining. He pokes fun at religious fanatics and, assuming it doesn’t offend you, it’s quite likely to make you chuckle.

Atheist Media Blog: The Atheist Media Blog is your daily source of news and video highlighting atheism, atheists, and/or topics that will be of interest to atheists. The blog also features a list of books and websites for learning more about atheism or living one’s life as an atheist.
Why We Love It: The Atheist Media Blog is simple, well organized, and concise in layout. It provides a wealth of information, and most of the posts are embedded with video clips, which supplements the post’s text.
Favorite Post: American Islamophobia

The Atheist Experience : A weekly live call-in television show sponsored by the Atheist Community of Austin. Although the names are the same, this is an independently run blog that features contributions from current and former hosts and co-hosts of the show.
Why We Love It: The Atheist Experience dissects religion — specifically Christianity — in a way that will cause you to think, and think deeply. Most of the posts are ingrained with quite a bit of scrutiny and sarcasm, which makes them all the more fun to read.
Favorite Post: What casual remarks reveal about theism’s view of the world

The rest of the sites aren’t numbered, so I’m in with the “Best of the Rest”, along with John Loftus’ Debunking Christianity .
Yup, another one of mine.
Sabio Lantz’s Triangulations “Playfully navigating life with skepticism, freedom and compassion” made the list too!
There are a number of blogs I haven’t seen before, including
There are some noteable omissions, though, including P. Z. Myers’ Pharangula. There was obviously no poll to determine who got listed, at least not one that got pharangulated!
Jerry Coyne’s Why Evolution is True is also missing and it’s a favourite of mine.
Here is what they said about the Thinking Shop
Dr. Jim’s blog is a secular Bible blog, and it presents the various musings and ideas of an associate professor of religious studies at the University of Lethbridge in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Without subscribing to the bible or the Christian faith, he takes a secular philosophical viewpoint of religion and religious texts.
Oddly, no mention of cats! So here’s one I made myself!
