Dr. Jim’s Back!

At least for a little while.
I haven’t been posting anything of late since I’ve been busy with various things. But I’m back in Lethbridge from a glorius honeymoon in Ireland, now and here is what is going on:
1) Mary and I are settling into living together. The place is a mess and we haven’t really started moving all her stuff over yet, but hopefully this week with 9 or 10 trips to the clothing recycling bins, I will get rid of enough things that no longer fit may official Fat Bastard frame, that Mary can have a fair amount of closet and dresser space.
2) The Official House Dog now lives with us, and the Official House Cats are not pleased. Poor little Goliath is doing his best to put on a brave face and, remarkably, that face has not been shredded by any Official House Cat Claws. Yet.
3) We are embarking on some home renovations, and just approved the plans with the contractor. We are rebuilding the front entrance, adding a small sun room, and covering the deck. And we will finally get the bathrooms finished off and make a good start on the basement where Dr. Jim’s Swanky Jazz Club will be built.
4) I’m desperately trying to finish my paper for the Munich conference.
As I said, the trip to Ireland was great. Except for the last 2 days, the weather was wonderful. Mary got a sunburn in Dublin!
We spent 4 days in Dublin (with a day trip to Cork and Cobh (Sp?), and Dr. Jim has officially kissed the Blarney Stone (officially). We then went to Galway for a couple of days and then back to Dublin for two. We took in a wonderful production of Twelfth Night in an open air stage at Trinity College. We also went through the Book of Kells exhibit and spent a lot of time at the Chester Beatty Library displays.
We will post some pics later.
