Can’t read any of the text, but this is surely part of the Global Evil Atheist Conspiracy (Blasphemous Iconography Command), and whoever is behind it does a great job finding good images.

Found this on Youtube while looking for some interesting Bar Mitzvah videos for my class. This young fellow is priceless!

And then there was Krusty’s

Anyway, here’s something else Jewish, its a lot less fun but really quite beautiful. In a way it is a small part of the Jewish story our young Bar Mitzvah should remember, regardless of what he believes about God. It’s Eli, Eli, (Walk to Caesarea) written by Hannah Szenes (executed in WWII), sung by Sophie Milman, my favourite Slinky Jazz Babe™

Yes, I’m back! After a summer of getting married, going to Europe twice, drastic home renovations and general exhaustion, I’m back to blogging! To start things off, I pose a question:

Is the Penn mightier than the Bullshit?

Anyway, thanks to Amanda Ferber at Simon and Schuster of New York, Dr. Jim’s has a copy of Penn Jillette’s new book, God No! Signs you may already be an Atheist and Other Magical Tales to give away!

So, Lets have anther contest to win it! Yes, it’s

THE GREAT PENN PENNED A PUBLICATION POETRY CONTEST!

GOD NO!

From the larger, louder half of the world-famous magic duo Penn & Teller comes a scathingly funny reinterpretation of The Ten Commandments. They are The Penn Commandments, and they reveal one outrageous and opinionated atheist’s experience in the world. In this rollicking yet honest account of a godless existence, Penn takes readers on a roller coaster of exploration and flips conventional religious wisdom on its ear to reveal that doubt, skepticism, and wonder — all signs of a general feeling of disbelief — are to be celebrated and cherished, rather than suppressed. And he tells some pretty damn funny stories along the way. From performing blockbuster shows on the Vegas Strip to the adventures of fatherhood, from an on-going dialogue with proselytizers of the Christian Right to the joys of sex while scuba diving, Jillette’s self-created Decalogue invites his reader on a journey of discovery that is equal parts wise and wisecracking.

Also, … Continue reading

Couldn’t resist. Found this somewhere on line a long time ago and thought I would forward it on:

Ah, yes, the Answers in Genesis’ The Ark Encounter Theme Park!

The Ark is one of the best-known historical accounts in the Bible. Independent research has shown that millions will come to see it, and learn how it and the Flood were real events in history.

The Ark is being built on a beautiful rolling terrain site just off Interstate I-75, about 40 interstate miles from the Creation Museum in northern Kentucky (near Cincinnati). God willing and as the financial support isprovided, this spectacular reminder to the world is planned to open in the spring of 2014.

Deanne Galbraith over at Remnant of Giants, has wondered if the new, “life size” (or should it be “fantasy sized” centrepiece of the proposed creationist, Noah’s Ark theme park will feature giants since, according to Genesis, two must have been recruited by Noah since they appear both before and after the flood narrative.

The giant loving Galbraith writes:

The theme park, to be called Ark Encounter, is also aiming to gather $25m donations from the public. Yet, before I spend $1000 to donate a plank to the proposed theme-park, I want to be dang sure it’s going to have Giants. Heck, I’m going to demandGiants, even if I’m only donating $100 for a wooden peg.

For instance, will … Continue reading

Patton Oswalt’s “Christmas Shoes” From Craig M. via Facebook! A comedic commentary on the following tune by some outfit called “Newsong”.

The commentary has a strong LANGUAGE WARNING, but this is not as bad as the major RETCH AND PUKE WARNING that must accompany the song.

And now, to deconstruct the sole of the thing…

Suck it up.

Once again Jim West is on about angry atheists, but the we now know why atheists are often upset.

It was all very well going on about pure logic and how the universe was ruled by logic and the harmony of numbers, but the plain fact of the matter was that the disc was manifestly traversing space on the back of a giant turtle and the gods had a habit of going round to atheists’ houses and smashing their windows”
